The Completed Beru Lars Costume

I would have posted sooner, but my computer stopped working. Again. Anyways, here's some pictures of the completed Beru Lars plus a few others.

I also made my brothers Anakin (from episode I) costume.

We had some friends over. From left to right - Me as Beru, Micheal, my sister Alina as Endor Leia, Daniel as young Ani, and Ellie as Ahsoka Tano.

On the left to me in this picture is Jeri, Ellie and Michael's mom, who also dresses up as Beru.

Young Ani.

A collage of my costume. Although I didn't get the leather pouch, I did end up getting the belt and the perfect boots from going garage selling earlier in the morning.

Star Wars Day - May the 4th Be With You

Overall I think the whole thing turned out pretty good!

Costume Bucket List

I have a page on this blog for the costumes I want to recreate and the other day I updated it.. Well it turns out I have lot of costumes I would like to make! I put together some collages with the costumes I would like to make the most.

1. Aurora (AKA Sleeping Beauty)
2. Snow White from Mirror Mirror
3. Alice
4. 1860's dress
5. Rapunzel
6. Disney's Snow White
7. Wendy Darling from Disney's Peter Pan
8. Pirate Dress.

And now we come to Padme's costumes from Star Wars. I narrowed it down to just 8, which was really hard to do. I mean who doesn't like her costumes? They're all amazing!

1. Handmaiden from episode I

2. Battle outfit from episode II
3. Battle outfit from episode I
4. Celebration dress from episode I
5. Senate dress from episode III
6. Packing gown from episode II (my favorite!)
7. Tatooine disguise from episode I
8. Picnic dress from episode II

I finished the Beru costume but haven't got pictures of the shirt yet. I want get some pictures soon, but I'm not promising anything because it's a pain to get it onto my sewing form because the material doesn't stretch and I had to take it off so I could work on my corset.

The Beru Skirt

To make the skirt I followed this tutorial and used some brown sheets I bought at the Goodwill Outlet for probably around $1.00 give or take a little. The nice thing about this skirt is I won't have to wear it just as a costume. I really want to make some more of these skirts!

Here's the skirt all cut out.

The supplies I used to cut the skirt.

The rest of the photo's are from the finished skirt.

 The front.

The back. The ties turned out really short, but it still works.

Full length view of the front of the skirt.

My costume only has a few things left, the blue sweater, belt, and a leather pouch. I can't wait 'till it's finished!

The Beru Jacket

I finished the jacket last week but forgot to post it. So, here it is! It could use a little ironing, but this material does not get along with the iron. It's made out of curtains I got at the Goodwill Outlet for $1.99. It only took one curtain, but I bought five of them because I liked the material and it was such a good price!

I just realized I didn't get any pictures where you can see the sleeves.... Oops! I'll have to get some soon.

Beru Lars

This last week I've been thinking about how I want to celebrate May the 4th and decided I wanted to make another costume. Luckily this time I thought about this a month and a half before, unlike last year when I thought about it 3 days before! After looking at every costume on The Padawan's Guide and watching Attack of the Clones I decided to do Beru Lars.

Her costume is actually fairly simple. I'm in the middle of creating the mock up of the coat/tunic.

I cut two rectangular pieces for the front and one for the back then pined everything in the shape I needed it before tracing and cutting to make sure I got the right shape of everything.

I did this last night and today I cut the pieces out and am going to be working on the sleeves next.
